The Photochemistry group belongs to the soft matter research group of the Coimbra Chemistry Centre (CQC) and is located at the Department of Chemistry of Coimbra University.
Sergio Seixas de Melo is the scientific leader of the Photochemistry Group at the University of Coimbra (UC).
The photochemistry group has extensive experience in steady-state and time-resolved techniques applied to various domains in photophysics. These domains include polymer dynamics, luminescent conjugated polymers, proton- and electron-transfer reactions, Chemical & Art, redox flow batteries, etc.
The research interests of the Photochemistry Group @UC encompass a wide range of topics, primarily focused on the study of electronic excited states.
The laboratories feature state-of-the-art equipment for conducting fast kinetic research studies.
