The Macromolecules and Transport Phenomena group initially focused on the study of electrolyte diffusion and its applications to the environment and corrosion.

Today, studies of transport phenomena continue to be present in the most diverse projects carried out by the group; however, the group's current interests lie in two interconnected areas: the development of new soft materials for the delivery of active substances and remediation, and the study of transport phenomena in biological and supramolecular systems.

A significant part of the research is carried out in collaboration with different CQC groups. In addition, the group's researchers maintain active collaborations with various foreign research groups, including:

  • Edvani Muniz (Univ. Federal do Piaui, Brazil);
  • M. Melia Rodrigo (Univ. Alcalá de Henares);
  •  Aleš Mráček (Tomas Bata University);
  •  Carmen Romero (Univ. Nacional de Colômbia);
  •  Derek G. Leaist (Univ. Western Ontario);
  • José Miguel García (Univ. Burgos);
  • Alfonso Jiménez (Univ. Alicante);
  • André Fajardo (Univ. Pelotas);
  • Tanta-Verona Iordache (ICECHIM);
  • Olle Soderman (Univ. Lund).
