Three meetings held in one year

  • 9th International Conference on Bio-based and Biodegradable Polymers: The success of the previous editions aimed us to organize the 9th edition in Coimbra, from July 22nd to July 24th, 2024. The aim of this meeting is to share the latest results on the field of biopolymers, due to the growing current interest in the specific topics covered, namely: A) Bio-based polymers: synthesis, modification and blends; B) Structural biomaterials; C) Biocomposites; D) Biopolymers for advanced applications; E) Sustainability of biopolymers; and F) Biopolymers in the industry: including both biopolymer providers and end-users with interest in new biopolymer solutions.   • RICI X - The 10th Iberian Meeting on Colloids and Interfaces: took place from June 23rd to June 26th, 2024 at the Departamento de Química da Universidade de Coimbra. RICI is a collaborative effort between the Grupo Especializado de Coloides e Interfases (GECI) of the Real Sociedad Española de Química (RSEQ) and the Real Sociedad Española de Física (RSEF), along with the Grupo de Colóides, Polímeros e Interfaces of the Sociedade Portuguesa de Química (SPQ). Building on the success of previous editions, this event serves as a platform for researchers from Spain, Portugal, and around the world to come together, share ideas, and explore the latest advancements in the vibrant field of colloids and interfaces. Chair of RICI X:  Artur J.   • XXV Meeting of the Portuguese Electrochemical Society: took place at the Departamento de Química da Universidade de Coimbra, from the 30th of August to 1st of September 2023. Inserted in the activities of the Portuguese Electrochemical Society (SPE), the aim of this meeting was to foster a discussion on the developments, achievements and prospects in all fields of Electrochemistry, and to boost and strengthen partnerships and networks between academia, technology transfer centers and industry, highlighting the importance of electrochemistry in the development of an innovative and sustainable future. Chair of the organizing committee: Artur J.
